Birdhouse | Cubify, 2014
A thoroughly modern bird shelter. This sleek 3D printed birdhouse is a simplified interpretation of a weaver birds’ nest. Weaver birds build exquisite and elaborate nest structures that are a rival to any human feat of engineering.
This suspended birdhouse is easy to hang up on a branch with the attached hook. The little hole on the side of the hook can be used to secure the object to the tree, or as a mounting alternative.
The entrance opening leans slightly forward which helps the overall shape to guide water away from dripping into the nest. The house has a recessed floor with holes for extra water drainage. The landing perch is designed as a twig to add a touch of quirkiness.
